Celestini’s “words” and Allen’s Dream
There are four films on release this week in Italian theatres. Surprisingly, Europe is represented by Cassandra’s Dream [+see also:

The documentary Parole sante (“Sacred Words”) by Ascanio Celestini is the only Italian title of the week. Very well received at the latest RomeFilmFest, the film takes an ironically bitter look at temping and follows employees from Italy’s largest call centre. Fandango, which also produced the film, is releasing it on two screens.
Ireland serves as a backdrop to P.S. I Love You by Richard LaGravenese (released by 01distribution), a US production shot mainly in Europe. In it, Hilary Swank’s co-stars with Scottish actor Gerard Butler of 300, who is very much at home these days in Hollywood.
Lastly, Universal is launching Matt Reeves’ monster movie Cloverfield, a box office hit in America thanks to a clever Internet advertising campaign.
