Annakarin Wolfsberg, former head of Trust Film Sales, has teamed up with veteran publicist Ylva Swedenborg to create Swedenborg & Wolfsberg, a new promotion agency specialising in smaller Scandinavian films, with offices at Stockholm’s Filmhuset.

and Lukas Moodysson’s Together.

Swedenborg has over 20 years experience as a film publicist in Sweden, working for major distributors such as SF, Sandrew Metronome and Sonet Film. She most recently worked, through her company Cinema Sweden, on Daniel Alfredson’s Wolf, currently number two at the Swedish box office.

Swedenborg said she wants to promote smaller Scandinavian films on the local markets and hopefully on the international market, from the scriptwriting stage to the theatrical release. “There are many independent production companies out there in Scandinavia that are not used to thinking marketing and promotion at an early stage of production. We want to help them until the film is ready for distribution. Of course, if a distributor likes our job we would be willing to continue working with them,” she said.

The Swedish publicist’s own outfit Cinema Sweden will remain as is for the time being. “We hope that our new company will be in focus and that Annakarin and I can offer much more services than Cinema Sweden has so far. We would also be glad to work on smaller European imports and documentary films,” she added.

Wolfsberg, who for the past two years has been a consultant for Film i Väst, will continue to collaborate with them but only on a film-by-film basis, starting July 1, 2008.
