There is to be a change of majority shareholder at Pyramide, the French independent production, distribution and international sales company. Fabienne Vonier is handing over the reins to Eric Lagesse, who is to become president and director general. Vonier will nonetheless continue to work within the company as a producer.

Founded in 1989 by Vonier, Claudie Cheval, Francis Boespflug, Michel Seydoux, Louis Malle and his brother Vincent, Pyramide has always backed quality auteur films, distributing titles by Mike Leigh, Gianni Amelio, Patrice Chéreau, Claude Miller, Tony Gatlif, Elia Suleiman, Denys Arcand and Fatih Akin (The Edge of Heaven [+see also:

At the recent Cannes Film Festival, Pyramide clinched successful sales with, among other titles, Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s Three Monkeys [+see also:
