Ischia celebrates film locations

There are two main competitive sections. The first contains eight documentaries, including Il passaggio della linea by Pietro Marcello, Pier Paolo Giarolo’s Italian/Hungarian co-production Boygo and the Czech title Lost Holidays by Lucie Kralova. The second competition features 13 shorts, including the French/Canadian Eau Boy by Eric Cravel.

This year sees tributes to the short films of Ugo Saitta and Vittorio De Seta and a posthumous tribute to Anthony Minghella, who set part of his film The Talented Mr. Ripley on the island of Ischia. The traditional Foreign Award, given to international films that choose Italy as a location, will this year go to Ron Howard’s Angels and Demons.

Film professionals can also look forward to the conference Cineturismo: finzione o realtà? (“Cinetourism: Fiction or reality?”) and the workshop on developments in Product Placement.
