Once upon a time... Meadows

- Once Upon a Time in the Midlands by a British director will have an international distribution

The international distribution rights for Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, by Shane Meadows, produced by Film Four with the help of the Film Council, have been bought by Sony Classics. The film, which was shown to great acclaim at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, stars Robert Carlyle, Rhys Ifans, Ricky Thomlinson and Kathy Burke. It will make it’s UK debut at the Edinburgh Festival August. The English director is seen to be one of Britain’s best talents, after directing films like Twenty Four Seven and A Room for Romeo Brass. Now he’s finally able to show his works in the international arena. Sony Classics hasn’t yet announced when it intends to launch Once Upon a Time in the Midlands on the international market.
