, on the silence of the monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery, Philip Gröning returns to the narrative form with his upcoming film. The director, born in Düsseldorf in 1959, has already garnered acclaim and awards in this genre, in particular for The Terrorists! (1992) and Love, Money, Love (2000).

His new project – entitled Die Frau des Polizisten – centres on a couple living in a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia (whose regional fund are providing €350,000 in financial backing) who are trying for a baby. According to Gröning – who wrote the screenplay – the film also looks at "the virtue of love, as well as the virtue of joy and pain".

The film is produced by the director’s company Philip Gröning Filmproduktion.
