A Swiss friend at Seoul
German-Swiss director Micha Lewinsky’s debut film The Friend (produced by Langfilm) continues its international journey a year and a half after its theatrical release. Following its win of the 2007 Swiss Cinema Prize, it is now vying for the $30,000 Grand Prize awarded to the winner of the international competition at the Chungmuro International Film Festival in Seoul (September 3-8). The jury of the second edition of this new event is presided over by US director Michael Cimino (The Deer Hunter, 1978).
The Friend is not travelling alone to Seoul, however. Two Swiss minority co-productions are joining it: Benny’s Video (1992) by Austrian director Michael Haneke and Into Great Silence [+see also:
