Abdellatif Kechiche receives Fipresci Prize

The European Film Academy, EFA Productions, and the International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI have announced that the European Film Academy Critics’ Award 2008 – Fipresci Prize goes to Abdellatif Kechiche for The Secret of the Grain [+see also:

As Hassouna Mansouri, director of Fipresci’s Department for African Affairs, explains, “giving this year’s prize to Abdellatif Kechiche, the International Federation of Film Critics (Fipresci) recognises an auteur in the purest and simplest sense of the word".
The award will be presented during the 21st European Film Awards Ceremony on December 6 in Copenhagen.
