Acclaimed actress Helen Mirren is starring alongside Ciarán Hinds and Tom Wilkinson in director John Madden’s thriller The Debt. The film is currently shooting in London and will have schedules in Budapest and Tel Aviv shortly.

Stardust scriptwriters Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman, along with How To Lose Friends & Alienate People scribe Peter Straughan, have fashioned a tale of three Israeli secret agents who kill a Nazi war criminal. Things go awry when the murdered man reappears years later, alive.

Madden said, “Helen Mirren is the perfect choice for the central role – a national celebrity and retired Mossad agent, a formidable and dignified woman grappling with years of emotional disappointment, suddenly confronted by a powerful and unexpected choice.”

Meanwhile, Matthew Goode will star with Amy Adams in Anand Tucker’s romantic comedy Leap Year. The film is due to shoot in Ireland in March. Goode plays an Irish innkeeper who aids Adams in proposing to her boyfriend on Leap Day.
