Everyone Else competing at Buenos Aires

Ten German films and nine German-international co-productions will participate in the 11th Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (March 25-April 5).

German documentaries at the festival include Dorothee Wenner’s Peace Mission, (screening in Cine + Cine); Peter Geyer’s Jesus Christ Saviour [+see also:

(Personas y Personajes), featuring Klaus Kinski; Thomas Heise's Material and Harun Farocki’s By Comparison (both in the La Tierra Tiembla sidebar); and Niko von Glasow’s Nobody’s Perfect and Doch by Erwin Michelberger and Oleg Tcherny (both in Cuerpos).

Older films include an extensive retrospective of the works of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, Wim Wenders’ Alice in the Cities, Edgardo Cozarinsky’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Laila Pakálnina’s The Shoe.

The festival has established itself as one of the most important film festivals in South America and pays particular attention to young filmmakers.
