A total of 19 fiction feature-film projects, ten short films, 14 documentaries and four television fictions are to receive support for their writing, development or production, for a total sum of €3,267,000, following the latest session of the Film Selection Committee of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The new film by Jaco Van Dormael, Le Tout Nouveau Testament, which is currently being shot, will receive €500,000 in production support. The plot sounds intriguing: God is among us, living in Brussels. Contrary to what you might think, He’s not really a very nice guy, and his daughter, who has a grudge against Him, has decided to get her own back. This surrealistic fable boasts a somewhat incongruous cast, consisting of Benoît Poelvoorde, Catherine Deneuve and Yolande Moreau.

Lastly, it is interesting to note that the Committee will also be supporting the first directorial effort by actress Pauline Etienne, the short film Mémoires sélectives.
