), Olivia Côte, Elodie Bouchez and Miou-Miou. Written by the director, the story begins as Théo is given up for adoption by his biological mother on the very day he is born. After this anonymous birth, the mother has two months to change her mind… Or not. The child welfare services and adoption service spring into action… The former have to take care of the baby and support it (in every sense of the word) during this limbo-like time, this period of uncertainty, while the latter must find a woman to become his adoptive mother. She is called Alice, and she has spent the last ten years fighting to have a child. Pupille is the story of the encounter between 41-year-old Alice and three-month-old Théo… Produced by Hugo Sélignac and Vincent Mazel for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, and by Alain Attal for Trésor Films, the movie is being co-produced by StudioCanal (which will oversee its French and theatrical distribution as well as the international sales), France 3 Cinéma and Belgian outfit Artémis Productions. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature, which has also secured backing from the CNC’s advance on receipts, will be granted €358,500 in support from the Ile-de-France region. The shoot is taking place over nine weeks, with Sofian El Fani (nominated for the César Award in his category in 2014 for Blue Is the Warmest Colour [+lee también:
