After the successful 2014 edition dedicated to Benelux, the 2015 edition of When East Meets West –its 5^th anniversary edition, that will take place in Trieste from January 18 to 20– will focus on the English speaking countriesand will encouragemajor connections with the UK, Ireland and North America. It is the first time that WEMW opens up to non-European territories and this will represent a new challenging trend for the future.

WEMW 2015 is looking for 20 outstanding projects - feature films and documentaries -in development suitable for international co-production. All selected participants will have the opportunity to meet a large panel of financiers, sales agents, distributors, buyers and producers from Eastern Europe, Italy and the English speaking countries. Furthermore, selected producers will compete for the WEMW Development Award, the EAVE scholarship and the brand new EGG Digital Cinema Award, a prize consisting in a full Digital Cinema Package to be offered by EGG, one of the leading post and VFX houses in Ireland, to one of the WEMW selected projects. 

Alongside the public pitching, the programme of WEMW will include a series of one-to-one meetings, case studies and open discussions on the financial and distribution conditions in the spotlight region. 

Film producers will have the opportunity to submit their project until October 30, 2014. More information will be soon available at the festival’s site.
