Over 100 accredited individuals will be at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan from 1-2 December to take part in the first edition of the Milan Industry Days, the new event in support of independent Italian cinema that the Milan Film Network is dedicating to film-industry professionals.

Producers, post-producers, commissioning editors, distributors, festival directors and programmers, and representatives from national film commissions will attend the presentation of the 11 film projects selected as finalists for the In Progress MFN production workshop, and the unveiling of the rough cuts of the five Italian features that are finalists for the Atelier MFN call for projects.

The first day will see the presentation of the finalist projects for the production development workshop, as selected by the jury comprising director Leonardo Di Costanzo (The Interval [+lire aussi :

fiche film]), director and producer Carlo Hintermann, Sergio Fant (founder of Cineagenzia, a programmer at the Locarno Film Festival and programme director at the Trento Film Festival), Gregorio Paonessa (producer at Vivo film) and Gabriele Genuino (producer at Rai Cinema). There are nine documentaries and two fiction films: E poi siamo tornati a casa by Alessandro Abba Legnazzi, Progetto Aves by Aves, Le quattro stagioni by Claudia Brignone, Il dovere di evadere by Manuel Coser, A Sancto Ambrosio by Antonio Di Biase, U’SC’KAND by Graziana Di Santo, Via della Felicità by Martina Di Tommaso, Denise by Rossella Inglese, Dal nulla by Marco Longo, Al di qua by Perla Sardella and Bela Vivo by Giulia Bruno.

At the end of the pitching sessions and the one-to-one meetings with industry insiders, two development awards worth €5,000 will be handed out, made available by Milan Film Network, as will the Filmmaker Passion Silvano Cavatorta Fund Award, worth €2,000.

On the second day, there will be the screening of the rough cuts and the presentation of the projects that are finalists for the Atelier MFN, the first and only institutional fund for post-production support for Italian features. Four documentaries and one fiction film have been chosen from among the 69 projects registered: these are The Cormorants [+lire aussi :
