The 3D Content Financing Market (3DFM) 2014 has extended the deadline of its call for projects to September 15. The international co-production and financing market, fully dedicated to projects with stereoscopic-3D (S-3D) content, will take place in Liège, Belgium, on 9-10 December, as part of 3D Stereo Media, the International 3D Summit for Science, Technology, Art and Business. The deadline for submission is 31 August.

The market brings together producers who have new projects featuring S-3D content and are looking for financing, as well as financiers and co-producers looking for investment opportunities. The call is intended for S-3D projects that have, as a minimum, a first-cut preliminary script, significant international sales potential and a budget of at least €500,000. These projects are eligible for at least a poster presentation/pitch. Projects that, in addition, have a complete preliminary script and at least 20% of the funding secured are eligible for an oral presentation/pitch. The projects can be submitted by experienced S-3D producers, experienced 2D producers who would like to make the transition to S-3D, or people with demonstrated artistic ability.

“This year, we will take fewer projects than at last year’s edition. There will be fewer people to pitch, but more time to show the project,” stated peacefulfish CEO Thierry Baujard. “We are also very interested in looking for 2D projects that want to use 3D to make them much more commercial – maybe they don’t know how to do it, as they’ve never done a 3D project, but they can meet people and learn a lot about the production facilities in our market,” he added.
