New Ways of Distribution: un dibattito sulla diffusione in Internet

Questo articolo è disponibile in inglese.

New Ways of Distribution: this is the central topic of the conference that will be held on 29 October in Warsaw by the Creative Europe Desk Polska. Open only to professionals, the debate will focus on current trends and innovations in the online distribution of European films.

In light of the growth of VoD in Europe, the MEDIA section of the Creative Europe programme is proposing a financial support programme for online distribution. As pointed out by the organisers of the event in Warsaw, the conference aims to encourage the distribution of audiovisual works on all platforms, in addition to cinemas. And the presentations by European experts lined up for the conference aim to encourage professionals to look for new ways of distributing films and to submit their projects for the next session of the financial support programme, which will be announced in April 2016.

Gábor Böszörményi from Hungarian distribution company Mozinet (a member of Europa Distribution) will open the conference by taking stock of the most recent trends in the distribution of European films. Then Christian Grece (European Audiovisual Observatory) will present an in-depth study on the VoD market situation in Europe. After this, Karin Haager, using the example of Austrian VoD platform Filmmit (which received support from the Creative Europe – Media programme in 2014), will explain how to build a VoD portal from scratch. Finally, pilot programme The TIDE Experiment, which saw the distribution of European feature films via a number of platforms, will be analysed by Muriel Joly from the IPEDA (Independent Pan European Digital Association). The conference will conclude with a debate bringing together these experts and two Polish representatives from distribution companies and VoD platforms: Marek Bien (Gutek Film) and Kamil Przelecki (Agora).

The conference is being held in partnership with KIPA (the Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce).
