by Juan Antin will be unveiled to distributors, investors and international sales agents on 11 May. The story, written by the director together with Patricia ValeixOlivier de Bannes and Nathalie Hertzberg, unfolds in the 16th century, in a Peruvian village in the heart of the Andes. Two little Native Americans, Tepulpaï and his best friend, Naïra, live happily in the village. But one day, an Inca procession arrives to collect the taxes, and the tax collector decides to take the village’s sacred idol in the name of Inti, the Sun God, in order to offer it as a tribute to the Grand Inca. For the village, it’s a total disaster, but for Tepulpaï, it’s a chance to finally show what he’s capable of… Produced by Didier and Damien Brunner (Folivari) together with O2b Films, Doghouse Films and Kaibou Productions, Pachamama is being co-produced by Haut et Court (which will oversee the French theatrical release) and Blue Spirit Studio, has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and OCS, and benefited from the CNC’s support for new production technologies. The movie is currently in production and is being sold by SC Films International.
