Matteo Botrugno and Daniele Coluccini look at life in the Rome suburbs in And Peace On Earth, a film about loneliness and the desire to escape from a harsh and forgotten reality
And Peace On Earth offers a certain vision of life in the Rome suburbs. In this film, directors Botrugno and Coluccini wanted to explore a reality forgotten by cinema and the media, where the population has remained genuine in a way that people no longer are in the city. The film looks at these people’s loneliness and their desire to assert their presence, which is often expressed through violence
