Viviane Reding is the European Commissioner responsible for Information Society and Media

“In Europe we have wonderful films, talented filmmakers, beautiful films, the only problem which we have is that people don’t know. Because they know about their national films but they don’t know about films of the neighbouring countries and they lose so much. That is why we have to educate the young generation, to show them how beautiful, how interesting, how fascinating are their own films and the films of the neighbouring countries. And we use them to go to the cinema and to give them pleasure, to teach them the pleasure, so that we educate future generations of people who go to see films”.
