Cineuropa met up with International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam's IDFA Doc Lab curator Caspar Sonnen, at Cannes Film Market's NEXT pavilion.

Last year, the IDFA was already present at the Cannes Film Market to introduce Doc Lab. This project has been created to develop new art forms by reconciling the changes that the cinema industry has gone through. Indeed, Caspar Sonnen maintains that we have to stop seeing traditional cinema and new interactive media as contradictory and incompatible. By introducing new formats as tools for creation, we will be able to reassert the value of cinema and grant it a completely different approach, in keeping with its time.
