Silvia Costa, President of the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament, talks about the LUX Prize 2014, which has once again teamed up with Venice Days to cast an annual spotlight on films that go to the heart of the European public debate.

This years LUX Prize finalists are Girlhood by Céline Sciamma, Ida by Pawel Pawlikowski and Class Enemy by Rok Biček. The European Parliament will subtitle these 3 films into 24 official languages of the European Union and screen them in all 28 EU countries within the LUX FILM DAYS. The aim is to make accessible these films and their diversity to all, and to encourage discussions on themes of shared interest together with other European citizens.

The LUX prize 2014 winner will be announced in December 2014 in Strasbourg by the European Parliament. The laureate film will also be made available for the visually and hearing impaired.
