1948. Accused by the French law of having collaborated with the Nazis, Louis-Ferdinand Céline has gone into exile in Denmark with his wife, Lucette. Milton Hindus, a young Jewish American writer, who admires him and fervently supports Céline, joins him in the remote Danish countryside, with the intention of writing a book about their encounter. The confrontration between the two men will leave no one unscathed.
