The Eagle Huntress is the spellbinding true story of Aisholpan, a 13-yearold Mongolian girl who is striving to become the first female Eagle Huntress in 2,000 years of male-dominated history. This young Muslim nomad longs to prove that “a girl can do anything a boy can, so long as she’s determined”. First she must convince her father Agalai – a Master Eagle Hunter – to train her in this ancient art that has been passed down from father to son for countless generations. The story unfolds against the backdrop of the Altai Mountains in northwestern Mongolia; the most remote part of the country, where for far too long women have been seen as “too weak” or “too fragile” to hunt with an eagle. Aisholpan is out to prove them wrong.
