- The Sitges-based Euro-Mediterranean event is on the lookout for independently produced documentaries, both films and series; the deadline is 31 July

The MEDIMED Euro-Mediterranean Documentary Market, which will take place in Sitges from 9-12 October, is calling for the submission of new projects in development and finished films. The market is looking for European producers and filmmakers that can provide independently produced documentaries, and projects engaging in creative risks, furthering issues and presenting points of view not typically seen on television. They should be in development or production, and appeal to international broadcasters, co-producers or other funders. Both films and series are eligible.
The committee comprising the MEDIMED team and international experts will select 25 projects. Selected projects will be pitched at the central Pitching Forum or at the newly designed ANTI-pitch programme dedicated to eight projects in their final stage of production (rough cut). The Speedy Pitch programme will select 20 projects in pre-production that could potentially interest international partners. One-on-one meetings with commissioning editors and financers are scheduled after the presentations.
The market is also looking for finished European documentary productions of any genre produced in 2024 or 2025 for private screenings at the digital Video Library.
The extended deadline for the submission of projects is 31 July. They can be registered free of charge and are subject to selection by an international jury. To obtain the entry forms and for any further information, please visit the market's website.
