Screen Directors Guild of Ireland

The Guild is a representative body supporting over 160 Screen Directors working across the genres of film, television, animation, video art and commercials. The Guild is at the forefront of campaigning for the economic rights of Directors and raises their status as creators of their work.
Irish Screen Directors contribute a huge amount to Society and popular culture within Ireland and beyond resulting in the increased export potential of work through the creation of successful industry projects such as the 'Directors Finders Series'.
The Guild supports its members with a range of legal issues e.g. contracts and is in the process of establishing the first Irish Collecting Society (Screen Directors Collecting Society of Ireland) which will distribute payment to Directors for secondary transmission of their work in foreign, UK and the Republic of Ireland territories by signing off on agreements with other Societies and Broadcasters.
