The island of Vis

EUFCN Location Award

Vis is one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic Sea, and it is the furthest from the coast and the most enigmatic of all the inhabited Croatian islands. It spent much of its recent history serving as a Yugoslav military base, cut off from foreign visitors from the 1950s right up until 1989. This isolation preserved the island and its authenticity. Vis plays the key part in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again film, where It stars as fictional island Kalokairi, and is represented as a paradise island.
