Luggala

EUFCN Location Award

  • Movie, TV series or documentary: Vikings by Michael Hirst (2018)
  • Film commission: Screen Ireland
  • Country: Ireland

Nestled in the Wicklow Mountains lies Luggala, a picturesque valley which simply translates to 'a hollow in a ridge'. The rolling landscape of Luggala set against the sky that is mirrored by the valley lake, Lough Tay, serves as a diverse and picturesque location. It is no wonder that the popular TV show 'Vikings' has used Luggala as a primary filming location.
