A REAL LIFE

by Sarah Leonor

synopsis

Isabelle teaches German in a suburban high school. She is a supply teacher, going wherever she’s needed. Bruno is a petty criminal: break-ins, car thefts. This monotonous routine comes to an end when a car runs Isabelle over in front of the café where Bruno’s eating a sandwich. As he approaches, he hesitates whether to steal her wristwatch or simply help her. Just as he takes her wrist to take the watch, she regains consciousness. This brief physical contact is enough to spark a mutual attraction.
