synopsis

Autumn 1942. Adam and Bronisława Kowalscy from Ciepielowo hid their Jewish neighbours, even though in Poland during the World War II hiding Jews was punished with death. In 6th of December 1942 at dawn a division of gendarmerie surrounded the house of Kowalscy as well as Obuchiewicz, Kosior and Skoczylas... An attempt to reconstruct the life of typical Polish town and Polish-Jewish relations during the years of German occupation, supplemented by eyewitnesses accounts.
