synopsis
Gainsbourg's life, from the young Lucien Ginsburg in 1940s occupied Paris, to the poet, composer and world-famous singer. The film explores his artistic career, from the young man passionate about painting to the recognition of his music whose avant-garde status made him a true icon of French culture. The film also looks at his complex adult life, through his stormy love affairs.
