synopsis
Late 17th century. Madame de Maintenon, last wife of King Louis XIV, creates Saint-Cyr as a school for educating 250 youngsters from noble families ruined by the war. Her aim is to make them into free women thanks to an education ahead of its time. But the young girls’ performance of Racine’s Esther before the court changes everything.
