THE ROUND UP
synopsis
The setting is 1942. Joseph is 11. And this June morning, he has to go to school with a yellow star sewn onto his chest... He receives encouragement from a neighbour who is a second-hand goods dealer, and taunts from a woman baker. Between goodwill and contempt, Jo, his fellow Jewish friends and their families, discover life in occupied Paris, on the Butte Montmartre, where they have found refuge. At least they think they have, until that morning of July 16, 1942, when their precarious happiness is shattered...
