There are three things in John's life - betting, betting and betting. Betting rules John's life in more ways than any "normal" person can ever imagine. For John it's an obsession. His wife, Helen, puts up with it because she loves him and she loves the high of a big win, so long as he's honest with her. When female bookie, Stan, offers John and his mates outrageous bets with dangerous odds events start spiralling out of control as they dig themselves deeper into her pockets.
