Mara is aware that her marriage with janko is falling to pieces. At one point, her husband, frustrated by his own inability to mend their relationship, lashes out and hits her. She leaves him, taking their young son with her. While Janko slowly realizes the erroe of his ways, Mare and her son find comfort in the company of a lonely security guard.
