I FIORI DI KIRKUK (GOLAKANI KIRKUK)
synopsis
Following the example of the well-known mystical Arabic poems of the Seven Valleys of Wisdom, the film explores the Seven Valleys of Love. Najla, a young Arab woman from Bagdad, surrenders to an illicit love affair with the young Kurdish doctor, Sherko. Operation Al Anfal, the genocide that Saddam Hussein’s military units organised at the end of the 1980s, is rampaging all around them.
