FAREWELL HOMELAND
synopsis
During summer in a village in the Yonne valley, Fanny, a little girl, shares the story of two brothers, Vincent and Serge, both of whom have been marked for life by the sudden death of their father. Keeping the family sawmill going has become a matter of honor for Serge, while Vincent maintains a distance and becomes involved with a young woman, much in the Calamity Jane mold, called Carole Barthoulot. Fanny looks on as Vincent falls in love with Carole and progressively lets go of everything that still keeps him tied to the village. Serge becomes aware that he’s going to lose Vincent and tries to hold him back...
