synopsis

Maribel, a 20 year prostitute, plies her trade in Madrid at the end of the fifties. One night she meets Marcelino in a pick-up bar. He's a shy, quiet man who falls in love with her without realizing what she does for living. She gradually begins to feel attracted, but her friends are alarmed by her relationship with this mysterious person. Taken from Miguel Mihura's novel "Maribel y la extraña familia".
