MISS VILA’S JOURNEY
synopsis
Miss Vila’s Journey is a love story between a man and a woman from another time who have landed in today’s Trieste. It is also the love story of an intellectual who trades places with and is reflected in his own real and literary past, and the past of his city. This is a story of the pain, the abuse and the self-deception that assailed Trieste. It is the story of a prophecy and a future that cancels, surrounds, honours and goes beyond memory; it is a story of science, humanities, of art and business, of assurances and challenges. It is the story of different languages that are spoken even when feigning the opposite. It is a story of poets and folly. It is the story of coming generations. It is the story of religions in a very secular city. It is a story of the sea and of winds. Of mountains and headwaters.
