HIDDEN BEAUTIES
by Nouri Bouzid
synopsis
Nouri Bouzid tells the story of a whole country through the tale of two young women, Zaineb and Aïcha, symbols of the Tunisian revolution and of the country's future. Both fight for their independence, to win their freedom. Both struggle against the religious and cultural shackles established by an archaic society. A society that, when the country is in turmoil, still hesitates between modernity and traditionalism. Zaineb and Aïcha fight to rebuild their lives, and this despite social and masculine pressure that they must deal with every day.
