Rosa, a Mozambican peasant, is accused of driving her husband to suicide: some say she was possessed by the spirit of a man who made her disobey her husband. During the funeral, in a letter just discovered and read aloud before the assembly, her late husband declares his last wishes: he asks that the five children he had with Rosa be entrusted to his twin brother to keep them away from the woman who ruined his life.
