Jerzy is a writer and an alcoholic. The film begins when he thinks he has beaten his dependence and can actually stop drinking. He falls in love with a young girl and being happy in a relationship with a woman then becomes his new goal. However, escaping from his dependence and embarking upon a new path proves to be extremely hard.
