STOICHKOV
synopsis
Hristo Stoichkov - former left-footed forward of CSKA Sofia and FC Barcelona - is the most famous Bulgarian in the world. He is one of the best-loved FC Barcelona players in history. The fans value his football, persistence, winner mentality, identification with the club and the region. Stoichkov hates Real Madrid - FC Barcelona's age-old enemy. He lives with his family in Catalonia. As he says, the people there love him, whereas in his native Bulgaria they don't understand he was once a football idol. A drama documentary tale of the dark and bright side of genius, of the triumphs and failures of a born winner who never gives up, of the mission to be a leader who inspires and leads others in the football field, of actual events and myths, of national confidence and national nihilism.
