The action takes place in the living room of a vacation lodging on the sea in an unidentified part of south central Italy. The protagonists are two women of about 63/64. For the duration of the film they will remain dressed in their night-gowns and will never manage to get out of the apartment. Any excuse will do for changing the subject and avoid leaving the flat.
