ROUGH ROAD AHEAD
synopsis
Germany, 1967. Ruby and Martin, a young couple, are rehearsing their uprising. The price is high: expulsion from school, parental violence, and ultimately institutionalization. But they are ready to take on the cause of love. Martin and Ruby are infected by the new swing of their generation. They dig Beat music with enthusiasm, love each other to the full, and inhale the upcoming spirit of a revolution against the old fashioned, narrow minded parent generation. But the lovers underestimate the rigidity of West German reality: the patriarchal system reacts to their life style with convent schools and juvenile homes where Martin and Ruby encounter archaic conditions.
