DREAMGIRLS
by Anika Decker
synopsis
For Leni Reimann (Hannah Herzsprung) a world collapses as she realizes her husband-to-be has been cheating on her for months. Thoroughly depressed, she flees to her sister Hannah’s (Karoline Herfurth) shared flat. She, however, is not exactly the right person to console her, since she also struggles with severe private and professional problems. Rather, the sisters’ mutual tower of strength is their best friend Vivi (Palina Rojinski), who shares her recipe for avoiding a broken heart by dating many men in quick succession and not getting emotionally attached. All three of them also care for Margaux (Iris Berben), the sisters’ mum, who was recently left by her husband for a younger woman after 35 years of marriage. On their quest for true love the four women stumble through an obstacle course of infidelities, one-night-stands, embarrassments, small triumphs and big disappointments. No wonder that the ideal man tends to be overlooked – even if he is as charming and honest as Joseph (Elyas M’Barek).
