synopsis

Modern day Macedonia. Lazar is a hare, acting as lure to the police during the transportation of illegal immigrants to Europe. Intelligent and discreet, he is the protégé of the local godfather and provides for his family with the money he makes. He falls in love with a young student, a stranger to his world. Against his will, he allows his brother-in-law, Toni, into the gang. One night, Toni is responsible for drowning an illegal immigrant. Called upon to help, Lazar has to make an impossible decision.
