MOTHER
by Vlado Škafar
synopsis
Mother takes her self-destructive daughter to a deserted village in a foreign country (Italy) and locks her in a house in the middle of nowhere. What begins as a mother's desperate attempt to save her child turns into an increasingly miraculous spiritual adventure, restoring the deep feelings of life within her. Inspired by the writings of Marcel Proust, the film is not so much a study of a relationship between mother and daughter: it is a poem of two human souls.
