CANDELARIA

by Jhonny Hendrix

synopsis

Victor Hugo and Candelaria are a couple aged who shares the bed only for sleeping. She spends hours a day in laundry room of a hotel, receiving blankets that travel for ducts from upper floors to the hot basement where she works. The main motivation of both are some chickens that they bred in the house as if they were pets, not food. One day she she discovers, wrapped in the blankets, a dirty and pounded box containing a video camera, Almost unwittingly, Victor Hugo discovers that watching his wife through the lens gets him excited. Little by little, the marriage begins to live within the camera, in a fictional world that become them young again and gives them faith. For the first time in a while, things are no longer as they are to be what they’ve always wanted, but denying reality can be temporary relief, never a final departure.
