HOTEL JUGOSLAVIJA
synopsis
Yugoslavia no longer exists, but Hotel Jugoslavija is still haunting the Belgrade scene, like a mirror held out to a Serbia in search of new landmarks. The film's director – of Yugoslavian origin but born and permanently residing in Switzerland – set about exploring the building at different eras by questioning its former residents. The result is a singular space-time continuum projecting a form of collective unconscious and a share of its own identity.
