ANDRÉ VILLERS, A LIFETIME IN IMAGES

by Marketa Tomanova

synopsis

André Villers takes photographs, develops, enlarges, draws, cuts, glues, assembles, replaces, takes out, rips off and staples back together... He has photographed Picasso, Chagall, Dalí, Miró, Buñuel, Fellini, Brassaï, Cocteau, Gainsbourg, Le Corbusier, Léger and many more but has never boasted about it. Throughout his life, he kept a low profile, even if his photos are known worldwide. He remains active even though he is already 84 years. One of the last great photographers and artists of the 20th century to be discovered.
